Fall of pioneer-villain of Tamil cinema.

Tribute to one of  my favorite actor Mr. M.N Nambiar who had his last breathe on 19 November, 2008 after a brief illness, at the age of 89.

Manjeri Narayan Nambiar played powerful villain roles in MGR films. His acting was so powerful that in that period, innocent MGR fans throw stones at him on outdoor shots, thinking he is a bad man, even in real life. He never took that in a negative connotation and always felt happy for reaching the audiences so well.

To the contrary, in real life, M. N. Nambiar was known to be a kind hearted hero. Profoundly he is a religious person undertaking pilgrimages to Sabarimala. He died on his favorite month. Don’t know what to say as to whether it is good or bad for him.

He started his acting in dramas at the age of 13 with the remuneration of Rs 3, of which he kept himself Re. 1 giving Rs. 2 to his mother.

Even after the death of other co-artists, M.N Nambiar continued his acting. I will always see his movies mainly for the divine and ‘saantham’ look that he has on-screen. The movies he acted at his 40 – 60 age are my favorites. Not to forget his old movies too.

Let us all pray for his soul, to rest in peace with a minute silent mourning.
